Meet The Team

Our Providers

Claris Mental Health is clinician-owned and clinician-led. Our psychiatric providers are Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs), advanced practice clinicians with specialized training in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions, including prescribing and managing psychiatric medications. Our providers take a comprehensive approach to psychiatric care, looking beyond a diagnosis or medication list to understand the factors that may be contributing to how you are feeling.

Treatment is individualized and may include medication management, diagnostic clarification, laboratory testing when clinically appropriate, and coordination with other members of your healthcare team. We value clear communication and collaborative decision-making. You can expect your provider to explain recommendations, discuss available options, and make space for your questions and preferences throughout treatment.

Priya Rao, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Accepting New Patients ( January 2027 )

Priya Rao is a doctorally prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 12 years of experience in mental health care across community mental health, residential, and hospital settings. Her work with individuals experiencing a wide range of psychiatric concerns has shaped both her clinical knowledge and her compassion for the people she cares for.

Priya is naturally curious and genuinely enjoys getting to know her patients. She considers not only symptoms and diagnoses, but also the experiences, circumstances, and treatment history that shape how someone is feeling and what they hope to change. She recognizes that talking about mental health can feel vulnerable, and she works to create an environment where patients feel comfortable being honest and sharing concerns without fear of judgment. She believes psychiatric care should be scientifically grounded while remaining flexible enough to account for each patient’s unique circumstances and goals.

Priya works broadly across adult psychiatry, with particular interest in anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attentional difficulties, and presentations with overlapping symptoms. She has a soft spot for people who feel stuck, those who have been through several providers or medications, who aren’t sure if a previous diagnosis ever really fit, and who are starting to wonder whether anything will help. She takes those situations seriously, and she doesn’t give up on them easily. More than anything, Priya wants her patients to feel genuinely cared for and to leave each appointment feeling understood, clear on the plan, and confident that someone is in their corner.

Coming 2027

Stacey Cherukuri is soon-to-be a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 17 years of experience in psychiatric nursing. Throughout her career, she has worked with patients from a wide range of backgrounds, navigating complex mental health concerns, substance use disorders, and various stages of life. Caring for people during some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives has shaped Stacey’s approach to care and the way she connects with her patients.

Stacey genuinely wants to know the people she works with. She wants to understand what life looks like outside of the appointment, what is going well, what isn’t, what you’ve already tried, and what you actually want to be different. She is warm and compassionate, but also straightforward. She believes patients deserve a provider who listens without judgment, is honest with them, and takes their concerns seriously. Her approach to treatment is practical, collaborative, and open-minded. Medication can be incredibly valuable, and Stacey is comfortable using it when it is the right tool. At the same time, she recognizes that mental health doesn’t exist in isolation. She considers medication alongside the broader factors affecting a person’s health and daily life and works with each patient to develop a treatment plan that is realistic, effective, and individualized. Stacey works with a wide range of mental health concerns and has a particular interest in substance use and co-occurring conditions. Above all, she wants patients to feel comfortable being honest about what is really going on, without fear of judgment.
